On Tempo with Lil’ Fade

On Tempo with Lil’ Fade

We caught up with Lil’ Fade just after sunrise at a laid-back muni tucked between the canyons and the coast—where the fairways are wide, the greens run true, and nobody asks how many balls you’ve lost… only how many good swings you found.

He rolled up solo, pushing a carry bag older than most of the staff. There was sand on his spikes, a tee behind his ear, and a portable speaker low-key humming something funky. He greeted the grounds crew by name, peeled an orange, and said, “You ever hit a shot so clean it feels like a memory?” Then he piped one right down the middle and never looked back.

This is Lil’ Fade.

West Coast born. Tempo-raised. Fairway fluent.
He’s got a swing smoother than soft serve in July, a playlist for every round, and a wardrobe that lands somewhere between vintage golf legend and Venice skate rat. His energy? Effortless. His game? Criminally underrated.

And now, he’s bringing all that smooth-swing charisma to the Headcover Crew.

Why Lil’ Fade?

At Carts and Caddies, we believe style isn’t just what you wear—it’s how you move. It’s how you treat the game, your crew, the course. And no one embodies that ethos quite like Lil’ Fade.

He doesn’t chase distance or get rattled by numbers. He plays his game—calm, clean, and full of character. He’s proof that rhythm beats rigidity and that joy can be competitive. He reminds us that relaxed isn’t lazy—it’s just focused in a different way.

Lil’ Fade walks slow, swings smooth, and lets the good shots speak for themselves. We’ve all got a Lil’ Fade in our group—the one who keeps the vibe high, the playlist dialed, and the game honest. Now he’s officially part of the crew.

Gear Check: Fade-Approved Essentials

Vintage mesh snapback

Cropped collar polo (buttoned only halfway—“for airflow”)

Wide-leg chinos, cuffed

Soft spikes, scuffed and seasoned

Glove in the back pocket—unless it’s go time

“Keep the fit light,” he says, “your game’ll follow.”

Mid-Round Flow

Around hole 6, we asked how he preps for a round.
He smiled, tossed a peanut into the air, caught it without looking.

“Prepping?” he said. “Man, I stretch with my practice swing. You just gotta ease into it. Let the round come to you.”

By the turn, he was -1 and hadn’t looked at a scorecard once.

The Playlist

Lil’ Fade plays like jazz: smooth, off-script, and always on time. His capsule drops will come with curated sounds—because golf, like music, is better when it grooves. That day’s rotation included:

🎶 “Electric Relaxation” – A Tribe Called Quest
🎶 “Cool Out” – Matt Martians
🎶 “Fade Away” – Logic & Norah Jones
🎶 “Plastic Off the Sofa” – Beyoncé
🎶 “Coastin’” – Zion I

“Low volume. High quality,” he said. “We’re not throwing a party—we’re just keeping the pace.”

On the Grind (Sort Of)

Lil’ Fade practices... but differently.
He doesn’t track stats or break down his launch angle. He just plays. A lot. He walks loops barefoot in the evenings. Works on tempo with a speaker and a seven iron. And occasionally, he’ll pull out a blade putter on a tight lie just to feel something.

More Vibe, Less Hype

Lil’ Fade isn’t loud. He doesn’t flex. But he’s the kind of player who turns heads without trying. He brings the energy without ever forcing it—and that’s what makes him unforgettable.

His game is an extension of his style: clean, lived-in, and effortlessly confident. You can’t fake that. You just feel it.

The Capsule’s Coming

The Lil’ Fade Capsule drops soon—featuring pieces that flow on and off the course. Lightweight textures. Coast-inspired palettes. Laid-back silhouettes designed for comfort, movement, and just enough sauce.

We’re calling it: this is the drop of the summer.

Walk light. Swing smooth. Let it ride.
Welcome to the crew, Lil’ Fade.
